What is the AGEC Act*?
Enacted on February 10, 2020, the AGEC law aims to transform the linear "produce-consume-throw away" model into a more sustainable circular economy.
It is built around 5 main themes:
- Moving away from disposable plastic
- Better informing consumers
- Combating waste and promoting solidarity-based reuse
- Taking action against programmed obsolescence
- Better production
* Anti-Waste and Circular Economy
The law aims to stop the marketing of single-use plastic packaging by 2040, with intermediate targets set by decree.
